Do you know the production process of cosmetic mold processing?

Hits:6

From delicate and compact lipsticks to powders with different shapes to delicate and silky eyeshadows, each product attracts the attention of consumers with its unique appearance. However, behind these beautiful cosmetics, there is an indispensable key role - cosmetic molds. There are four major links in cosmetic mold processing . Today, the editor will give you a good introduction.

1. Design link
The design of cosmetic molds is the first step and the most critical step in the entire production process. Designers need to use professional design software to perform three-dimensional modeling based on the type, shape, size and brand requirements of the cosmetics. During the design process, not only should the appearance and shape of the mold be considered, but also the structural rationality of the mold, the demolding method and the feasibility of the production process should be fully considered. For example, for lipstick molds of complex shapes, designers need to carefully design the mold parting surface to ensure that the lipstick paste can completely detach from the mold during demoulding without causing damage to the paste. Moreover, during the design process, detailed mechanical analysis of each component of the mold is required to ensure the strength and stability of the mold during use.
2. Material selection
The choice of mold material is directly related to the quality and service life of the mold. Commonly used mold materials include steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy and various high-performance plastics. For injection molds and compression molds that withstand higher pressures and temperatures, steels with high strength and good wear resistance are generally selected, such as Cr12MoV. After proper heat treatment, this steel can have good hardness and toughness, meeting the performance requirements of the mold during long-term use. For some blow molds that require weight, aluminum alloy materials are widely used because of their advantages such as light weight and good thermal conductivity. In addition, in some special occasions, copper alloys or high-performance plastics are used to manufacture molds to meet specific process needs.
3. Processing and manufacturing
Processing and manufacturing is a key link in transforming design into actual molds, and a variety of precision machining processes are required. CNC machining is one of the most widely used processes in mold manufacturing at present. By programming and controlling the movement of the machine tool, high-precision milling, drilling, boring and other processing operations can be achieved to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the mold. Electric spark processing is used to manufacture some parts in molds that are complex in shape and difficult to complete through traditional mechanical processing, such as the cavity and core of the mold. It uses high temperatures generated by discharge to corrode metal materials to achieve the purpose of processing. In addition, there is wire cutting processing, which can cut mold parts of various complex shapes, and has high machining accuracy and low surface roughness. During the processing process, every link needs to strictly control the processing parameters to ensure the quality and accuracy of the mold.
